What is Multiple Myeloma?

No, it has nothing to do with the skin.  Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer formed by malignant plasma cells inside the bone marrow.  Normal plasma cells are an important part of the immune system.  Multiple Myelomia is not a "popular" cancer as it strikes only 5 or 6 people out of 100,000 which boils down to around 115,000 new cases each year in the US.  As a more obscure cancer it doesn't get the funds contributed to other types of cancer research.
