Bill's Photography
Bill's PhotographyI was a working newspaper photographer while attending college. I never really lost interest; the urge to create with a camera laid low but it was still there while I was attending to life's many other details. Going DigitalIt was economics, pure and simpleAt least that's what got me started. In 2000 I jumped into digital photography feet first with the birth of our daughter Lauren and I haven't looked back. (After going through 2 rolls of film in as many weeks, I decided I couldn't afford to be a film burning daddy.) Soon, I was taking that primitive 1.3 megapixel digital camera with me everywhere I went around Chicago. Since then, I've taken Thousands of photos in and around our beautiful city. I've also upgraded cameras twice. What started as an exercise in economics soon became a passion I can't put down. The New Photography RevivalWhat makes me think anyone would have any interest is this? Photography is undergoing a great revival equal in intensity to what occurred in the first part of the last century when Kodak box cameras were king. Another surge in photographic activity occurred in the 50's with the influx of cameras from Japan and the birth of the Poleroid instant cameras. Perhaps I can impart some things I've learned since 2000 that will be helpful to the budding digital photographer or the film photographer making the switch. |
